SUMMARY:Life Together Groups
DESCRIPTION:This year in Sojourn East Women\, we’re focusing on growing alongside one another. One way we’ll do that is through Life Together Groups—8-week-long book clubs designed to cultivate meaningful friendships while growing together through rich reading. \nThis fall\, we’re inviting the women of East to join us in reading What Grows in Weary Lands by Tish Harrison Warren. Rather than gathering at church each week\, women will meet in homes across our community\, creating smaller spaces to build relationships\, encourage one another\, and discuss what they’re reading. \nEach group will meet every other week for four gatherings\, covering approximately one-quarter of the book at each meeting. Unless otherwise specified\, groups will meet during the weeks of: \n\nSeptember 5–11\nSeptember 19–25\nOctober 3–9\nOctober 17–23\n\nMeeting days\, times\, and locations vary by group. We’ll conclude the semester by gathering together for a celebration with all of the Life Together Groups at Sojourn East at 10am on Saturday\, October 24. There is no cost to participate\, but please purchase the book on your own before your group begins!

DESCRIPTION:Foundations is a series of adult education classes designed to help us go deeper in our understanding of the Christian faith. While our preaching is centered on God’s Word\, historic Christian creeds help us see how the whole of Scripture fits together and faithfully articulate the central truths it proclaims. \nIn this four-week Foundations class\, Pastor Jonathan Pennington will guide us through the Apostles’ Creed: the oldest and most enduring confession of the Christian faith. Together we’ll explore what it teaches about the triune God\, the person and work of Jesus Christ\, the Holy Spirit\, salvation\, the Church\, and the hope of the resurrection. \nWhether you’ve recited the Apostles’ Creed for years or are encountering it for the first time\, this class is an opportunity to deepen your understanding of the historic Christian faith and grow in confidence in the gospel. No need to register; just come to learn on any or all of these four weeks (August 30\, September 6\, 13\, & 27). We’ll meet during the 9am service in the Multipurpose Room.

DESCRIPTION:Volunteer at our monthly Mobile Pantry! For over a year\, we’ve partnered with Dare to Care to host a monthly food pantry serving our neighbors experiencing food insecurity in the East End. On the third Wednesday of each month\, food arrives at 2:45pm and the pantry starts at 3:15\, running until food runs out. We need lots of hands to pull this off each month\, so we hope you’ll join us in serving. \nThis registration is for servants only. SUMMARY:Life Together Groups
DESCRIPTION:This year in Sojourn East Women\, we’re focusing on growing alongside one another. One way we’ll do that is through Life Together Groups—8-week-long book clubs designed to cultivate meaningful friendships while growing together through rich reading. \nThis fall\, we’re inviting the women of East to join us in reading What Grows in Weary Lands by Tish Harrison Warren. Rather than gathering at church each week\, women will meet in homes across our community\, creating smaller spaces to build relationships\, encourage one another\, and discuss what they’re reading. \nEach group will meet every other week for four gatherings\, covering approximately one-quarter of the book at each meeting. Unless otherwise specified\, groups will meet during the weeks of: \n\nSeptember 5–11\nSeptember 19–25\nOctober 3–9\nOctober 17–23\n\nMeeting days\, times\, and locations vary by group. We’ll conclude the semester by gathering together for a celebration with all of the Life Together Groups at Sojourn East at 10am on Saturday\, October 24. There is no cost to participate\, but please purchase the book on your own before your group begins!

DESCRIPTION:Saturday Morning Men in the Word is an additional opportunity for men to gather around God’s Word and grow together. We’ll kick off the Fall 2026 study on Saturday\, September 12\, with a verse-by-verse journey through the Gospel of John. No registration\, book fee\, or homework is required—just show up! \nWe meet in the Multipurpose Room (located in the back of the Auditorium). Donuts and coffee are served from 7:30–8:00 a.m.\, followed by the study from 8:00–9:00 a.m. Come grow in your knowledge of God’s Word while building meaningful relationships with other men. DESCRIPTION:Membership at Sojourn East is a way of committing yourself to the health and mission of our local church\, and in turn asking the church to commit to you. The new members class is for anyone who is interested in learning more about Sojourn East or who desires to join the church in membership. During the class\, pastors and key leaders will walk through the mission of church and help you understand your role in it. Attending this class is the first step in becoming a member. \nThis is a two-week class (September 20 & 27 at 12:30pm) and we ask that you attend both weeks. We’ll be meeting in the Chapel after the 11am service. \nPlease complete the attendee form at the very end of the registration.
